Community
St Peter's is fully involved in the life of the local community. The parish hall is used by a wide cross-section of individuals and community groups.
As a church, we are committed to supporting the work of a centre for the homeless, in both money and voluntary help. We have a close link with a Women's Refuge, which we support.
Youth and Children
We provide a range of activities including:
Crèche (up to 3 years old)
Junior Church (3 1/2- 11 years old)
There is a Tuesday Tots Lunch Club at 12.45 after the 12.15 service.
Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts
Meet every week. Brownies and Guides in the church hall and Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in their Scout headquarters in Montpelier Park, across the road from St Peter's.
Afternoon Club (for over 60s)
A thriving afternoon club meets twice a month, with a wide variety of talks and events.
Pilgrimages and retreats
From time to time we have parish pilgrimages and retreats. Previous pilgrimages include visiting Lebanon in 2000, exploring the medieval abbeys in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire in 2002, Turkey and sailing down the Aegean Coast in 2005 and Cappadocia, Turkey 2007. This year we are going to Syria.
We also have retreats for contemplation in a peaceful retreat house.
Study courses
Lent and Advent and one other. Previous courses have included studying the four gospels, ecumenism, and the history of spirituality.
Fairtrade
Once a month we have a Traidcraft stall selling fairtrade goods after the sunday service in the church hall.
Bookstall
There is a religious book stall available after the Sunday service, as well as a religious library.
World View
Ealing as a Borough has a high number of asylum seekers and refugees, and we are committed to working with them, as well as countering negative stereotypes of people who have fled from well founded fear of persecution. We also support the work of Amnesty International.
St Peter's has a wide range of linguistic and ethnic groups, and we hope we have a broad world view. Our links to the developing world are real and important to us, especially in our partner Dioceses of Mozambique and Angola.
