BEST FEET FORWARD
BEST FEET FORWARDCanal side walk from Hanwell to Brentford – 4 miles/2 hours – Easy - Leader: Margaret Joachim.
Meet at the junction of Windmill Lane /Uxbridge Road at 2:00 pm. You can get to the meeting point via the 207 or 427 bus from Ealing along the Uxbridge Road, alighting at the St Bernard’s Gatehouse/Windmill Park stop (which is one stop after Ealing Hospital), and walking a short distance along the Uxbridge Road to Windmill Lane. We will join the Grand Union Canal towpath off Windmill Lane and see the amazing triple-decker bridge (road, rail and canal) before walking down the full flight of the Hanwell locks (at least 7 of them) to Brentford. Optional refreshment stop at Brentford Lock and short continuance of the walk (half an hour) down to the Thames. Return to Ealing via the 65 bus.
