Sunday 15th September, TWO EALING MANSIONS, 2.5 hours approx./4.5 miles. Meet 1.30 p.m. at Ealing Broadway station. Leader: Linda Foster Contact No. on the day: 07585 790145. A leisurely Sunday afternoon walk through Ealing's green spaces and parks via two recently restored 19th century mansions - Pitshanger Manor, the country retreat designed and built by Sir John Soane, and Gunnersbury Park Mansion and Museum, previously the site of homes belonging to Princess Amelia, daughter of George II, and the Rothschild family. We will explore the pleasure grounds and gardens surrounding these lovely houses. A number of drop out points are available with access to public transport. There will be a refreshment break in the Gunnersbury Park cafe, and then walkers have the option of visiting the Mansion and Museum (free) or exiting the Park for a return walk or local buses to Ealing Broadway Station.
