St Peter's values the children of its congregation as full members of the church community. The Junior Church helps the children to understand how much God loves them, to teach them the Christian story through a variety of interesting and enjoyable activities, to nurture them in the Christian Faith, and to show them that they are full and valued members of the Church.
The Junior Church meets during the main Sunday morning service in term time. Each Sunday's session has a theme, based on the Sunday readings, the season of the Church's year, or a particular aspect of the Christian faith.
Children go out to Junior Church, which takes place in the Church Hall, shortly after the beginning of the service. They then rejoin the main congregation for the Peace, Eucharistic Prayer and Communion (or a blessing), after which they return to the hall for final activities and prayers. Parents join them in the hall at the end of the main service, about 11.10 am.
Children aged three years upwards are very welcome to join us. Junior Church dates for the Summer Term 2017 are as follows:
4th June - Family Service
11th June - Junior Church
18th June - Junior Church
25th June - Junior Church
2nd July - Fr Michael’s First Mass - No Junior Church
9th July - Family Service
16th July - Junior Church Picnic - Final Junior Church of the Summer Term.
Junior Church resumes after the Summer Holidays on 10th September 2017.
